Sugar and the world tarot today..

Sukunya's Personal Tarot Card:
The World
This Tarot Deck: Oswald Wirth
General Meaning: What has traditionally been known as the World card points to the presiding intelligence, called "Sophia," or Wisdom, which upholds life on this and all worlds. A more precise title for this card might be "the Soul of the World," also applicable as a symbol of personal empowerment and freedom. In most Tarot decks it is a female figure that has become our standard World image. She originates in Hebrew, Gnostic and Alchemical lore, and stands between heaven and earth as the Cosmic Mother of Souls, the Wife of God and our protector from the karmic forces we have set loose upon the Earth in our immaturity and ignorance.

Where the Empress energy secures and fertilizes our terrestrial lives, the goddess of The World invites us into cosmic citizenship -- once we come to realize our soul's potential for it. Just as the Chariot stands for success in achieving a separate Self, and Temperance represents achievement of mental and moral health, the World card announces the awakening of the soul's Immortal Being, accomplished without the necessity of dying.

This card, like the Sun, is reputed to have no negative meaning no matter where or how it appears. If the Hermetic axiom is "Know Thyself", this image represents what becomes known when the true nature of Self is followed to creative freedom and its ultimate realization.

St. Petersburg authorities withdrew the previously issued permit to carry out the public action of sexual minorities in the north of the city on July 7. The reason was the discrepancy between the previously agreed format for the event - a rally - and the statements from the organizers in the media about the intention to hold a gay pride parade.
The chairman of the press service of the administration of St. Petersburg Governor, Andrei Kibitov, said that the withdrawal of the permission to hold the public action of gay activists was also connected with numerous complaints from common people. "The Committee on the Rule of Law withdrew the permission to hold the so-called gay pride parade and march in Polyustrovsky Park. Authorities must not only comply with the law, but also listen to citizens. The Government and the governor's office received a huge number of addresses from people, even from other regions, to prevent the holding of this event, " news agencies quoted Kibitov as saying.
Kibitov said that the organizers of the event received the official document about the refusal to hold the action.

Western European countries are preparing the ground for the revision of the Schengen border control and recovery. France and Germany are primarily interested in taking such measures aimed at ensuring the EU's internal borders. The new French president Francois Hollande, as well as his predecessor, Nicolas Sarkozy, is in favor of strengthening the fight against illegal migration. Enhancement of border controls, especially in the south of France, can significantly reduce the flow of migrants, the Ministry of Internal Affairs believes.

The German government also supports the retention of the right to restore borders in the EU. German Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich repeatedly spoke in favor of the partial revision of the Schengen Agreement. Without denying the importance of maintaining the Schengen area, Frederick, however, insists that the internal security of each country is a priority.

The U.S. Armed Forces have increased the area of their country by 460 hectares. However, it does not go about the conquest of a territory during an armed conflict. The U.S. Corps of Engineers summed up the first results of a unique project to restore the land and deepen the seafloor in the Chesapeake Bay. Internet users monitored the progress of the work and suspected the presence of some insidious plans that the U.S. government harbors.
The Chesapeake Bay is the de facto a part of the Atlantic Ocean. The bay juts into the mainland - it is located between the states of Virginia and Maryland. There used to be numerous small islands in the bay. The islands were inhabited by tribes of Indians, and were later conquered by European colonists. Poplar Island was one of them.

British company Excalibur Almaz plans to launch a commercial spaceflight to orbit the moon in 2015. The Russian-British joint venture registered in the offshore-popular Isle of Man will ride the tourists using Soviet technology. Private businesses express increasingly more interest in space travel.
Excalibur Almaz previously acquired four capsules and two decommissioned space stations "Almaz" from Russian military-industrial corporation NPO "Mashinostroenie" and equipped them with modern electronics and advanced software. Each of the capsules, one of which is exposed for all to see near the hangars of the Isle of Man, can deliver to the space station a crew of three people and ensure their return to Earth.

As blood donations decline, U.S. ban on gay donors is examined

By Jen Christensen, CNN
July 7, 2012 -- Updated 2320 GMT (0720 HKT)

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Gay men prohibited from donating blood
  • In June, blood donations were down more than 10%
  • Studies show 1 in 5 people donate blood, 95% of population will need donated blood
  • 64 members of Congress are urging the United States to end the ban
(CNN) -- The American Red Cross says power outages created by recent storms in the East and Midwest cut blood donations, which were already low this summer. In June there was a nationwide shortfall, with donations down more than 10% across the country.
"We are asking people to please call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit us at redcrossblood.org to find a way to donate if they can," said Stephanie Millian, Red Cross director of biomedical communications. "We need people's help."
One group that would like to help, but legally can't, may be moving one step closer to eligibility. Since the 1980s, when the AIDS epidemic decimated their community, gay men -- or MSMs (men who have sex with men) as they are called by federal agencies -- have not been allowed to donate blood. In June, a group of 64 U.S. legislators led by Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Illinois, and Sen. John Kerry, D-Massachusetts, sent a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services encouraging it to move forward with a study that may lead to the end of the decades-old ban.
